As many of you may well know, I am not the kind of person that blogs very often, but I feel... this is something that deserves mention.
A good friend of mine, Phillip, has, in the past week been dealing with a quite somber turn of events. In the past week or so, he informed me that his mother, Sarah, has, once again, been diagnosed with cancer. And within a few days of this news, I think around Sunday, I was told that his mother had begun feeling very ill, so she was rushed off to the hospital by Phillip's father, Kevin. The doctors said that she had a very serious tumor that would need immediate surgery, almost as soon as they arrived. However, they found that it was so far gone that it was inoperable, and the predictions from there on out have been very grim.
Just yesterday, my mother woke me to tell me that Phillip's mother had been put on life support and they did not think she would make it through the day. I kept in touch with him and sent off voice mails, calls and texts to all of my friends, even people he didn't know, trying to rally him and his family some good will and hope. He kept me informed, but everything he said was grim. His mother lasted longer than predicted, but always when I called Phillip to check in, his words became grimmer and grimmer.
